LONDON (Bywire News) - The BBC have been slammed for their 'disgustingly biased' coverage of the ongoing situation in Israel and Palestine.

In his latest video, politics vlogger Samuel K has passionately called out the UK's public broadcaster, and the rest of the Western media, for their "one-sided" coverage of the ongoing occupation.

You can watch Samuel K's video above - and a transcript is below:

BBC Interviewer Emily Maitlis: "Was Hamas right to respond with rocket fire?"

Palestinian activist Husam Zomlot: "Hamas did not decide to evict people from their homes, inside the occupied city of Jerusalem. East Jerusalem is occupied, not according to my law only, but according to your law - according to the UK position, according to the United Nations. An occupation has to be temporary, and it has to respect the rules that govern occupation. Israel has made a mockery of these rules."

Samuel K: "I'm absolutely sick to death of the dishonest and totally one-sided media framing of the Israel/Palestine 'conflict'.

You're always seeing the media frame it as a 'both sides' issue, or just completely ignoring the crimes of Israeli forces.

For example, there's been coverage of Palestinian worshippers being attacked in Al-Aqsa Mosque on Monday, but not a lot of coverage over what led to that.

For weeks now, Palestinians have been protesting against the planned eviction of Palestinian families from a neighbourhood in East Jerusalem."

Palestinian home-owner: "You are stealing my house!"

Israeli: "If I don't steal if, someone else is going to steal it!"

Samuel K: "This is what has led to the 'clashes' with Israeli police - and far-right activists, may I add.

This isn't a 'both sides' issue. Israeli forces, as they usually do, use their greater military power to brutalise Palestinian worshippers in their holy place - all the while, continuing to expand their illegal settlements, pushing Palestinians aside.

The media framing of this debate is disgusting. While we get multiple outlets telling us that Hamas has been firing multiple rockets at Israel, there's not a lot of mention that:

1) Out of the 40 deaths so far, 35 of those were on the Palestinian side. And, on the recent bombing by Israel, 9 Palestinian children have died.

2) Israel and Palestine's military power cannot be compared in any serious way. What the media often fails to report is that Israel is one of the biggest high tech superpowers, and one of the world's top weapons exporters. While they have drones and sophisticated weaponry, Hamas largely rely on rockets.

Western media hardly discusses Israel's crimes, because we're allied with Israel. Particularly the right wing media, who are happy to focus on Hamas all day, but, for example, are silent on the crimes of Saudi Arabia because they're our allies.

I believe there needs to be a de-escalation. But, I also believe that, for far too long, Israel has been getting away with illegal occupations, using indiscriminate force against civilians and feeding a false narrative that they 'never instigate' any of this.

It's bullshit. And across the globe, we must stand up for the rights of Palestinians.
