LONDON (Bywire News) - On Valentine’s day Hacker Noon, the world’s number one platform for advanced IT and technology gave out some love with their annual crypto awards. Among the categories was ‘Best Crypto Journalists of 2021’ which was won by the one and only Italian in the race Alfredo de Candia.

Votes were cast between November and January for nominations. In total, more than 100,000 votes were cast for 4,961 candidates in 586 different categories. Alfredo came top in the best crypto-journalist raking in an impressive 1987 votes.

Winners in this category get a .tech domain name of their choice as well as a free Avast antivirus solution which mean prizes are very much in line with what they would see on the Hacker Noon platform.

For those who have not been following his writings, Alfredo has produced more than 3,000 articles across various crypto magazines including the Cryptonomist and, of course, Bywire. He has also written several crypto and blockchain themed books including Mastering EOS, Mastering DeFi, and Mastering NFT - Practical Guide for beginners and not as well as more than 100 others which you can find here.

Speaking about the award Alfredo said: “Alone you can't get anywhere, and without the support of everyone and my mentors and those who believe in me like the director of The Cryptonomist, Amelia Tomasicchio, to whom I owe a lot.”

But it doesn’t end there. With the support of the start-up Hoken Tech, Alfredo has decided to create a celebratory NFT of the event, 1987 NFT. These NFTs can are located on the EOS blockchain and can be redeemed by anyone with an EOS account. They represent a gesture of gratitude to all those who made this victory possible.

Hoken Tech, themselves, are also celebrating as they won in another category, "Startup of the Year 2021". Located in the city of Bari, it is another bright figure of the Italian blockchain scene in a world that has until recently, been dominated by foreigners.

Finally, we conclude with a reference to the NFTs which can be redeemed by anyone without paying any fees or transaction costs, and having an EOS account, all using this link.
