Today, the Clarionos team is excited to announce the very first, on-chain Eden On EOS election!
Over the last couple of months, the team has been working intently behind the scenes to build and prepare an intuitive, EOS smart-contract-driven interface for facilitating fractal elections and distributing funds to delegates elected as a result. And now, we’re applying the final touches.
Furthermore, the recently funded EOS Foundation has agreed to fund the Eden community with 200,000 EOS (about $1.2 million) plus an additional 200 EOS (about $1200) to the community’s treasury per Eden member who joins before the election. This total pool of funding will be allocated by the elected delegates.
“Following through on our mission of enabling developers, businesses, and individuals to build on and create value for EOS, the EOS Foundation and its advisory board selected Eden as a funding candidate to serve as an early showcase for how network funds can be distributed to empower a wide range of value creators within the EOS community.” — Yves La Rose of the EOS FoundationThe EOS Foundation has also approved a separate grant to Clarionos of 100,000 EOS to reimburse the Clarionos team for the time spent designing, building, and deploying Eden On EOS. Going forward Clarionos will continue to fund the development of tools for the EOS community in advance, and the community — via Eden or the EOS Foundation — can choose to reimburse us after reviewing our work.

Introduce yourself on the EOSCommunity forumReach out to members on TelegramIf you’re a member, you need to opt in to participate in the election. To do so, go to the Election page, sign in with your EOS account, and follow the instructions to declare your intention to participate in the election. Registration closes 24 hours before the election begins.
What’s at stake?
With the latest commitment of the EOS Foundation, the Eden treasury will sit at over 238,000 EOS. This number will only rise with dues from new members and any donations that come between now and the second election. The elected delegates, collectively, will receive 5% of the total treasury monthly, according to the delegate funds disbursement schedule.
Funding will be distributed monthly to delegates at all levels with an algorithm that would give the leader a budget of around 4000 EOS per month. The next layer down (about 8 delegates) would get about 500 EOS per delegate, and the next layer down (about 40 delegates) would get about 100 EOS per delegate. Actual funding per delegate will be determined by the total number of Eden members and the number of groups that reach a consensus on a delegate.
One in five (20%) Eden members who choose to participate in the election will be given a budget to make great things happen for the community!
Beyond that, and likely of greater impact is the fact that this is a hugely important step for decentralized governance on the EOS public blockchain and for Fractal Governance generally. As on-chain elections are successful, we anticipate Eden playing a much larger role in the future governance of the decentralized platform.EOS is pioneering the future of fractal representative democracy!
