The IMA welcomes the finding of the UK’s only independent press regulator, IMPRESS, that The Canary and Skawkbox have no case to answer in relation to allegations of antisemitism.

“Unlike the corporate press, The Canary, Skwawkbox and other IMA members are subject to independent regulation and a code of standards which protects the public from all forms of racism and discrimination.

“These titles' willingness to put themselves forward for independent, pro-active regulation is a credit to their editorial integrity, and puts them in stark contrast with the corporate media. Most national newspapers persist with IPSO, a complaints-handler which has never established an investigation in its entire existence and does not even consider complaints of group discrimination - including antisemitism.
