Qatar Tests 13,584 People in 24 Hours

While the UK’s test and trace system descends into chaos, Qatar is showing how it should be done. According to official figures, Qatar tested 13,584 in just 24 hours.

LONDON (Bywire News) - According to the Ministry of Public Health, Qatar recorded 163 new cases of Coronavirus and 152 people recovered bringing the total number of people to have recovered from COVID 19 to 138,033. So far, 240 people have died from COVID 19.

The number of cases active in the community is falling. 5,235 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 bringing the total to 13,584 over the past 24 hours. There are 2,243 cases under treatment. 

35 people have been admitted in the last day bringing the total number of people in hospital to 256. Nobody was admitted to intensive care and just 24 people are receiving urgent treatment for the condition.

While the UK, Europe and the US continue to struggle with cases, Qatar is looking at the light at the end of the tunnel. Restrictions are being gradually lifted. Even so, the government is urging people to stay cautious and adhere to social distancing restrictions.
