MOSCOW (Bywire News) - On Monday, the Kremlin said that the United States should not apply pressure on people over the certification of a new gas pipeline, Russian Nord Stream 2.

The recently finished pipeline is waiting for Germany to give it clearance before Russia is able to export gas through it.

Some European countries, as well as the U.S., have opposed the pipeline, which will go around Ukraine and has been designed to gas directly from Russia to Germany through the Baltic Sea.

According to those in opposition, the pipeline will make the EU to dependant on Russia for gas, while other European leaders have said the link is crucial in securing energy supplies.
