WATCH: Half-Palestinian MP SILENCED by Commons Speaker during speech about dead relative in Gaza

Yesterday evening in the House of Commons, a half-Palestinian MP was abruptly forced to stop talking by the Speaker of the House midway through a speech telling her colleagues about the devastating news that one of her relatives had died in Gaza.

Liberal Democrat MP Layla Moran, whose mother is Palestinian, raised the Point of Order in the House of Commons shortly before a crucial vote on whether or not Parliament should call for a ceasefire in Israel and Gaza.

However, after informing the House that “this day was the hardest [she] had had to endure in her Parliamentary career”, the Deputy Speaker of the House, Nigel Evans, ordered Ms Moran to stop talking.
