LONDON (Bywire News) - Every week the EOS community gets together for a fireside chat and general update about all things happening in the ecosystem. This week, things kicked off with a presentation from

Bywire founder Michael O'Sullivan thanked the community for making the Bywire app the number one pool-funded project on Pomelo. He also took time to announce an exciting development in the form of the Bywire DAO.

Bywire DAO

Michael started off his announcement by saying: “oil used to be the most valuable asset in the world however it was soon taken over by data. But not just data alone, the most valuable asset is data you can trust. Oil overtook aluminium as the most valuable commodity in the world because of its use in emerging technology.

“Without engines, oil has little value. Bad, inaccurate or false data is about as valuable to society as oil is to a thirsty cow. In fact, IBM estimates that bad data leads to losses of about 3.1 trillion dollars every year. The opportunity loss is unquantifiable, but the damage done to society is measurable. There is no more benefit of the doubt, society needs to see evidence to prove something is trustworthy before they trust it.”

Michael went on to add that “it’s clear governments have failed and these governments own media which is in exchange for their bested interests have also failed. But the news is a force for good when trustworthy, news is the safest way we can hold power to account”

As part of that, he went on to announce the launch of Bywire’s new decentralised autonomous organization. This will be formally launched with a YouTube stream scheduled for October 3.

Zaisan European Conferences Impressions

Rhett provided an update from TechX Amsterdam Rhett where he had been promoting EOS. There were, he said, two days in Amsterdam, and two days in Cologne with a total of three presentations. He says in general these went down pretty well with plenty of familiar faces returning from the first presentation for the second and third.

D.U.N.E

This week saw a new release of D.U.N.E software. This is a tool that allows users with a compatible OS to run Antelope Software without installing a different operating system. It

makes life easier for Antelope developers to run nodes and it further highlights the importance of building EOS for the contributors.

Scalability+ Blue Paper

Scalability+ highlights the high throughput of Antelope blockchains while highlighting issues with RAM usage on these chains.

The big takeaway from the blue paper is the optimisation of how data is stored so that there's no need for hundreds of gigabytes of RAM to run a node.

Sponsored EOS Bees Swarms, NFT Series

Another successful project from the latest Pomelo series of EOS Bees. Jesse Jaffe was on hand to thank to the community for their contributions. They are using the fun for a subsidised swarm campaign to promote certain Tweets which benefit EOS. The campaign’s main goal is to allow the EOS community to decide what Tweets get swarmed.

An article was released here on Bywire containing the BEES chatbot on telegram with a process of naming the swarm and the Twitter link which will then be swarmed. The content has some parameters, and the BEES team will act as a filter system as the content must be contain the hashtag #EOS and can’t be insulting to any party.

A swarm is coordinating influencers from big to small and leading an engagement on tweets, which promotes content and contributes to sharing the EOS message.

They will be doing seven swarms per week for 12 weeks and there are five remaining this week. If they carry over, the BEES will pick it to analyse the interest in the initiative. Another detail is that the Tweet doesn’t have to be your own content as long as it adheres to the parameters set.

Last week there was a collaborative NFT for the EOS dApp ecosystem. This quarter there will be eight NFTs that are blended to create a puzzle. They cost 10 $EOS per pack and there are five NFTs in the pack with eight pieces to collect and blended into a full map.

Pomelo Season 3

The season 3 survey has been released. It gives the Pomelo team feedback for improving the Pomelo user experience. Grant creators can now claim their funds, but many still haven’t as they can claim them at any time.

It has been, then, a successful season three and the announcement of season four is imminent.

EVM X IDEATHON Hackathon

The EVM Hackathon event is live and underway. The second live stream event took place on Wednesday the 28th of September hosted by a member of the Helios team in which he went through everything needed about to make a pitch deck.

This will be useful for anyone looking to participate as part of the Ideathon is presenting and submitting a deck. There are 137 signed-up participants in only a week and a half – far beyond their expectations.

The participation submission for the event will be running until October 31st. There are currently several workshops on the Helios chain which will support the process of creation. Workshops will still be hosted in the next few weeks and information about the timings can be found on the Devpost website.

Eden Election

The next Eden election will take place on October 8th at 1300 UTC. It will be a chance for candidates to make their pitches to the community. Those elected as chief delegates will be given funding to help drive the ecosystem forward. Those curious about Eden can join them on the public Eden telegram channel where they can go through the process of getting involved.

Antelope Coalition

The meeting between $EOS, $TLOS, $WAX and $UTX, the Antelope coalition, was recently released and the topics discussed ranged from progress from IBC governance, developer onboarding and workshops, Wallet SDK approvers, RFP Secure Smart Contract Library and many more.
