WASHINGTON (Bywire News) - Syed Jafri has been announced as the winner of the EOSIO blockchain challenge. The competition which comes with a cash prize of $200,000 challenged developers around the world to come up with an application running on the EOSIO blockchain which provides a full Ethereum application environment.

The application will put EOSIO’s raw speed to use on the blockchain and bring it one step closer to blockchain interoperability.

The innovation will mean that developers who are used to coding in Solidity will now have a bridge which allows them to benefit from a free public blockchain software while providing superior smart contract performance without the need to learn an entirely new coding language. They will also gain access to a wide range of EOSIO application.

The innovation means any developer who is used to coding in Solidity will now be able to build their applications on top of a platform which offers a free public blockchain software while providing superior smart contract performance without having to learn an entirely new code language while gaining access to a wide array of EOSIO applications.

The winning solution gives us a hit at the breadth of the platform and shows how developers from beyond EOSIO’s community can use the platform as a service.

“This new solution enables developers familiar with Ethereum and its coding language to now build their applications while leveraging the inherent benefits of EOSIO: ease of use, traceability, auditability and a decentralized database,” said Block.one CTO Dan Larimer. “These tools are arming developers with new platforms that were previously unavailable due to differences in coding and smart contract languages, bringing the industry closer to interoperability.”

The EOSIO Challenge kicked off back in February, with more than 800 entrants across six continents. Each one was collaborating to help open up the bock chain to everyone. Safri’s winning solution is open sourced as a developer tool and can be found here.
