LONDON (Bywire News) - With the next election is looming and only a couple of weeks left on their term the majority of this meeting was dedicated to finalising the bylaws and setting out the fundamentals for the future direction of Eden.

As a quick reminder, the current list of Chief Delegates is as follows:

  • Aaron Cox: Co-Founder Greymass.
  • Chris Barnes: 1st Eden Mock Election winner.
  • Jesse Jaffe: EOS Bees Queen.
  • John Williamson: Founder Violet Garden.
  • Brandon Lovejoy: Multimedia Creator.
  • Randall Roland: Founder of EOS Support

Jesse Jaffe: The Bees are preparing for Pomelo and taking orders for translations. If you want your pitch translated they can do it.

The Bees have three grants up. Their main one is with EOS support for the referral onboarding system and a third grant for controlling the chief delegates' Twitter and YouTube. As anyone who has been following these meetings will remember, getting managerial control of these accounts is difficult. To make it easier for future chief delegates, he’s offering his services to upload videos and send Tweets.

Brandon Lovejoy: As promised in the last meeting he has made his contribution to Eden China delegation for 300 EOS.

Made an additional 900 EOS contribution for the translation the Bees have done for the Fractally paper.

He teases a surprise for the Eden community to be revealed later.

Aaron Cox: His team are upgrading all three versions of Anchor to support the new creation protocol. Aside from that a lot of effort over this last week has gone into network issues that have distracted the Fractally team.

Randall Roland: EOS Support has been supporting the community, building their platform and have also been looking to see what’s going on with the network as well, so they can better help their end-users. They have also been collaborating with EOS Nation on Mandel, collecting contacts with users.

John Williamson: He has been mostly concentrating on work for Fractally.

Chris Barnes: Most of his work has been spent on the bylaws. He’s writing a summary write up on block producers on EOS. This will be ready before the next election. The MyVoteEOS campaign is going to be coming out more aggressively next week.

Bylaw Discussion

The second part was dedicated to finalising the bylaws, with recommendations including.

  • Mission statement: To create value for the EOS ecosystem. Although there is a feeling that this is basic nobody had real objections and decided to leave it there.
  • Election process: Delegates elected by members randomly organised into roughly equal-sized groups of 12 or fewer. Each group must select a representative from their group with more than two-thirds of the votes cast and the elected representative must vote for themselves. The process repeats until you have a final group where the head chief delegate will be selected by random selection.
  • Election Schedules: Elections may occur every three months or be triggered by a petition of more than two-thirds of the chief delegates.
  • Adopting Bylaws: Eden on EOS community may adopt bylaws that contain all rules processes and regulations which are binding for anyone who wishes to remain a member. Bylaws can only be ratified if they were proposed at least 14 days before the last election. Whenever possible a time delay will be used on all transactions with a delay which ensures the next set of chief delegates have a seven-day opportunity to revoke the transaction.
  • Election process: The winning delegates will have their account keys replaced by those of the previous delegates. The head chief delegates' funding allocation will be 1.5 times what the other chief delegates will receive. A threshold of two-thirds is required for account transactions.
  • New members: All new members must be invited by three members on video. They must read and agree to the bylaws before continuing. Membership is voluntary and anyone can leave at any time by executing the resign contract. Each member will pay three EOS to join the community.

With the bylaws more or less finalised, the focus will now turn to the next election for the chief delegates which will take place on April 9th.
