Bamber Gascoigne was born in London in January 1935 and died in London in February 2022.

Bamber Gascoigne went to Eton and derived from the land owning class.

He presented University Challenge from 1962 to 1987 before leaving to pursue other projects.

Here he describes his secret as a quiz master on one of the most challenging of all quizzes and the process back in 1962 for landing the role.

Bamber Gascoigne has though gone on to leave us with a wonderful resource for those interested in history.
