LONDON (Bywire News) - In the space of a year, Pomelo has established itself as a firm fixture in the EOS ecosystem and has already provided critical funding to those projects that support the network. Now,  it’s moving onto its fourth season and another chance to support those projects you love.

Pomelo is a crowdfunding platform in which anyone can request funding for public goods from the EOS community. Donations are weighted from the community, determining how matching funds are divided.

The use of quadratic funding means more matching funds go to projects with more unique donors.

The ENF is providing an estimated $550,000 in matching funds for Season 4 which is set to kick off on November 14th 2022.

The Gems Team’s Season 4 NFT sales, alongside last season’s accrued fees from Pomelo, will boost the matching pool to $385,699.

Overall the donations will break down as follows:

  • ENF $350,000
  • Pomelo Fees $14,099
  • .Gems NFT Sales Target $21,600

These are the dates to keep an eye out for during Season 4:

November 14-December 7: The grant applications will open for public goods. Whilst grants are being submitted, the Pomelo team actively approves ones that qualify for participation.

November 23-December 14: Donations open allowing users to donate EOS to their favourite grants which have an impact on the distribution of the matching pool!

December 14: The Pomelo team then analyses results and distributes the matching pool to qualified grants that succumb to KYC.
