Pre-Season

There’s a lot you can do to prepare for an upcoming season.

Season Starts

The next two phases overlap. Applications and donations are each open for three weeks, with applications opening first, and after one week, donations starting. Donations continue for one week after applications close.

Open for Applications (3 weeks)

Grant owners, submit your grant applications as early as possible.

If you have a draft application saved, you still need to submit it by clicking Join Season. Donations begin one week after applications open, so submit your application early before donations start to optimize your fundraising!

Open for Donations (3 weeks)

Now the entire community gets active, browsing grants and donating to the ones they value, generating the wisdom of the crowd.

Grant owners, get out there and promote your project. You have three weeks to get as many donations as you can.

Applications Close

Note the cutoff date for grant applications so you submit on time.Continue making donations for one more week.

Make your last donations before the period ends and contribute to a strong finish.If you haven’t already, maximize the impact of your donations by boosting your Pomelo Trust Bonus (you can do this even after donations have closed, during the analysis phase).

Analysis

The Pomelo team audits the season results and community reports to identify any attempts to exploit the system. Depending on what they find, the team makes adjustments that may affect the matching pool distribution.

Appeals

A brief phase where a grant owner can appeal an action taken by the Pomelo team during the analysis by providing supporting evidence.

Find instructions to appeal and the deadline in the analysis report. Once the appeal period is ended, the season results are final.Learn the results of appeals in the retrospective article.

Claiming

Eligible grant owners, it’s time to claim your matching funds!

Proceed to claim your matching funds when you receive the message that claiming is open.Visit your Pomelo Grants profile settings for KYC and to claim. Only complete a KYC check for Pomelo if you haven’t before.

The season is complete.

Post-Season

Now’s the time to hear from you about your experience during the season: what you liked, what needed improvement, and what you’d like to see in future seasons.
