On Monday, two British soldiers, who were captured by Russian forces in Ukraine, appeared on Russian state TV asking to be swapped for a pro-Russian politician, currently being held by the Ukrainian authorities.

In the footage, it wasn't clear whether the two, Shaun Pinner and Aiden Aslin were able to talk freely. It seemed as though they had been prompted by an unidentified person.

The pair requested British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to help aide the exchange for pro-Russian politician Viktor Medvedchuk.
