LONDON (Bywire News) - Yes, you read it right. On 26th May Italy held its first hackathon for EOS. The "Blockchain Garden" is the largest ever event to take place in Southern Italy dedicated to crypto, blockchain, NFT, metaverse and more.

More than 200 people attended an event featuring panels on various topics including two speeches in the afternoon focusing on the EOS blockchain. The event culminated with a grand EOS hackathon.

Among the speeches was a presentation illustrating the EOS hackathon by Alfredo de Candia, author of the book Mastering EOS – a Practical Guide and CTO of Hoken Tech. He was also recently named Best Crypto Journalist 2021.

The first part of the presentation was dedicated to the EOS blockchain, explaining all its functions, characteristics and potential uses. He also outlined some of the features which in his opinion make it stand apart from the competition – including its status as the world’s first carbon neutral blockchain.

Next came the first EOS hackathon which featured a project called Nice1. Thanks to their plugin, any game or application can become a blockchain app using EOS. This is a major breakthrough and is unlike anything we have seen before.

Thanks to the collaboration between Alfredo and the Nice1 team, attendees were treated to a preview of how this plugin works. First, they saw a traditional game, and then how it could be transformed into a decentralised game thanks to the use of NFTs.

Finally, the day concluded with the videos in Italian of the speeches and the EOS Hackathon held in Bari towards the end of May.

You can see highlights from the event including the speech ‘Introduction to the EOS Blockchain’ and the EOS Hackathon on YouTube now.
